Barfoot and Thompson have a similar moral compass to my own, particularly when it comes to family, community, and serving people. As Peter Thompson, Managing Director, once said, “We’re not in the property business, we’re in the people business! I moved to the Bays in 1987. I played rugby and cricket and made lifelong friends at the East Coast Bays Rugby and Cricket clubs. After studying accountancy and management at University, I went on to play cricket in England. I had various jobs in a number of companies before running my own business for 22 years. I quickly learned all about selling, customer service, finances, banking, budgeting, staff and people management, and every other little thing you need to know about running a successful business.

I have my own story (which I’ll save for another day), in regards to my personal life that has made me realise life is short and we should all be doing what we truly want to in our lives. Hence my move to real estate! I have always loved buying property. I envision how a property can be improved; I renovate and voila! My vision comes to life!

I am very thankful for the life I have lead so far, and my son Robbie, who we lost in 2018, is my inspiration. He was so proud of my involvement in the charity, ‘First Steps Himalayas.’ In his honour, from every completed sale, I donate 1,000 to them. I have twice travelled to Nepal to help with building schools for the kids there and am committed to going back next year if I can. I am a firm believer in helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
